What I loved this year
Books, TV, Podcasts, Beauty, Life
2022 was my first full year living in Colorado. Coming from California, the winter was definitely an adjustment. As someone who never really visited the snow (my family was more of a beach family) living in a place with 4 seasons was a new experience.

Here is a random compilation of everything I loved in 2022
Books:
I really made an effort to read more in 2022. It's great to finally read for fun, after years of only reading assigned books. I mostly love fun rom-coms or thriller books. Some of my favorites this year were Book Lovers by Emily Henry, Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reed, and The Guest List by Lucy Foley. I also highly recommend getting a kindle or using the Kindle app on your tablet or smartphone.
A fun rom-com and very Hallmark Movie-esque about two people in the book industry who start off hating each other, and you know the rest!
Follows a Fleetwood Mac type band in the 70s through fame and love. Read it before it becomes a TV series!
If you love Agatha Christie books, this one is for you! Full of fun twists and turns during an upscale wedding on a remote island in Scotland.
Podcasts:
I work an 8-5 job during the week, and if you know me, you know that I'm usually listening to some podcast while I work. There are so many podcasts out there now, and there is something for everyone. The two types I'm usually listening to are pop culture related, or true crime.
Three of my favorites are:
https://thebraincandypodcast.com/ They release two podcasts every week, breaking down and discussing articles and books on science, literature, psychology, pop culture, and news.
https://www.truecrimeandcocktails.com/ True Crime and Cocktails is a podcast featuring two grown women, who wear matching shirts while they get buzzed and talk all things true crime and mystery! It’s like a true crime slumber party!
https://www.yftpodcast.com/ Wells Adams from The Bachelorette and Brandi Cyrus share their favorite things in movies, TV and music.
Beauty:
You may not know this, but one of my first jobs out of college was working for the skincare brand Proactiv. Since then, I've been obsessed with all things skincare and beauty and I love finding new products to use. In 2022 I decided to try to find clean and non-toxic brands to use. It's amazing how much unnecessary crap is in a lot of products that mess with our hormones and overall health. Here are some of the products I loved this year:
https://maelove.com/ - This "Glow Maker" Vitamin C serum has amazing reviews and even better ingredients. You can use code BUNDLE at checkout and you can get 10% off your purchase of 3 items of more.
http://rwrd.io/oq1fk0n?c Dime Beauty. I love this clean beauty brand that has everything from serums to perfume to eyelash growth serum and mascara.
https://www.sephora.com/brand/kosas This is a hot (and clean!) makeup brand. Their concealer is my new favorite.
https://www.sephora.com/brand/jvn I love Jonathan Van Ness from Queer Eye and he is a true hair expert! His blowout styling milk is great!
https://amzn.to/3QfWCA1 Speaking of hair, I cannot live without the Revlon One-Step Volumizer hair brush. It usually takes me forever to blow dry and style my hair and this really is one step! There are so many options out there and this one is affordable and works really well. I always look like I just got a salon blowout when I use this.
https://amzn.to/3IiTotc Paula's choice is a great brand! I was looking for a good liquid exfoliator and this one is just what I needed.
Television:
To say one of my passions is Television might sound weird to some people, but I studied Film and Digital Media in college and have always loved getting invested in the storylines and characters. I love analyzing shows and reading up as much as I can about the topic. Some people even have called me the "Walking IMDB" (Internet Movie Database) because of my vast TV and film knowledge. And nowadays, TV has really surpassed movies in the great entertainment medium in the last few years. And streaming services have also outshined traditional networks as the main place we watch TV now. Here are some of the shows I watched (and enjoyed) in 2022.
Despite how crazy 2022 was, there was still a lot to enjoy this year. I always like looking back at "end of the year" lists. What was your favorite things from 2022?
Goodbye 2022, and Hello 2023!
I hope you enjoyed this fun list of everything I loved in 2022.
