Denver's famous Beer Spa

Need a date idea in Denver? What if I told you there was a spa where you can literally bathe in beer*?

Enter the Beer Spa of Denver. A spa based on the owners' travels around the world, and a specific spa they visited in Poland. You get to experience a full day of relaxation in their various rooms either by yourself, with a friend/partner, or even a group! And, to top it all off, they even have a taproom where you can enjoy local beers (or kombucha if you aren't drinking). They also have wines as well.

Our day at the Beer Spa

When you first walk in, you are greeted and checked in at the front desk where you are asked to remove your shoes and given rubber slippers. You are then able to hang out in the taproom and take photos at their tub photo booth.

The Taproom

Before you begin your treatments, you are able to wait in their taproom and to a serve-yourself wall of beer, wine and Kombucha. You get a card that you can tap on the wall and sample different drinks. They provide you with drink tumblers that you get to use for your visit that will keep your drinks cold during your treatments.

Also while you wait, they have a photo op wall with a tub filled with black and white balls like the ball pits we had as kids!

We enjoyed taking photos, Sean enjoyed a beer and I sipped on water since Kombucha is not my fave and I don't drink alcohol.

Once we were ready, we were escorted into the relaxation room with the anti-gravity massage chairs.

The anti-gravity massage chairs

We decided to try out the massage chairs before our spa service, and I'm glad we did everything in the order that we decided. The massage chairs are an extra fee of $20 for a fifteen minute massage. Or you can do thirty minutes for $30.

I've tried these massage chairs before and they are so relaxing! The chair scans your body and you can decide what level of pressure you want. I did a 2 and Sean did a 4 (out of 5). I like my massages to be more relaxing but it still got out some knots in my back. The room is completely dark with relaxation music playing. I almost fell asleep. They also offered blankets because the room was a little chilly.

I took them up on that! Once our time was up, we were then moved to our own private spa room!

The private spa room

Each spa room has a private hot tub, shower and sauna. You have the room for 90 minutes for $179 (for two people). They recommend you start with the sauna for 20 minutes, and then take a cold shower before moving to the hot tub. They provide you with a 20-minute hourglass so you don't have to set alarms on your phone.

How cute is this sign? Depending on your celebration, they have various signs to put up for you! They did Happy Birthday for Sean and I.

*About the hot tubs: you don't actually bathe in beer. The hot tub has a large tea bag filled with hops, malt and herbs. Our only critique is that we wish the hot tub was a little warmer. It felt more like a lukewarm bath. But still very relaxing! When you have 20 minutes left in your reservation, the tub will shut itself off and start draining. You then have 20 minutes to shower and get dressed. In the shower they have beer shampoo and body wash (because of course they do!).

Overall, it was a great experience and very relaxing! I would definitely go back.
